WANT TO MAKE A MOVIE?
Jan 29-30 seminar
An acclaimed weekend film course from The Hollywood Film Institute,
which is credited with launching the careers of filmmakers such as
Quentin Tarantino and Spike Lee, will be presented in Honolulu on the
weekend of January 29-30 at the Ala Moana Hotel.
Quentin Tarantino calls this course “an amazing intensive film school
for adults”. Dov S-S Simens, the founder and creator of the “2-Day Film
School” states that the course is presented in a way to be applicable
for both professionals, who have yet to produce or direct a feature
film, and wannabes who are dreaming about their first film project.
The last time Simens presented the course in Honolulu was 1974 at
UH-Manoa where in the class were the eventual producer and director of
the movie “Aloha, Bobby and Rose”. Recently attendees of Simens lecture
have partnered and shot the “Big Bounce” on the North Shore of Oahu.
For further details contact Lex Clark of L.Clark Productions, LLC, who
attended the course in San Francisco and felt that it had to be brought
to the islands, at 808-258-8018. Web info www.LclarkProductions.com

Safe Ride:
A Unique New Designated
Driver Service to Honolulu
Before you risk the cost of a DUI by operating your vehicle while under
the influence, give Safe Ride a call and they will get you and your
vehicle home safe. Justin Dilg and Toma Podorean, two recent college
graduates, have formed a designated driver service to help combat the
escalating problem of drunk driving here in Honolulu.
Unlike a taxi service, Safe Ride will ‘Get You and Your Car Home Safely’.
This is how it works: You go out and have a good time. Before you
decide it is time to go home, call Safe Ride at 737-SAFE. Safe Ride
dispatches a driver to the location of your choice. The Safe Ride
driver arrives on a moped that folds up, fits in a bag, and stores it
in the trunk of your car. Then, your Safe Ride driver takes you home in
your very own car.
Once you arrive, and your car is parked, the Safe Ride driver departs
on his moped. When you wake up the following morning, your car is
safely parked at your home. There is no need to go retrieve your
car from the night before. You will save yourself the cost of possible
parking tickets, towing, overnight garage fees, vandalism to your
vehicle and most importantly, NO DUI!
The average cost for the Safe Ride service is about 30 dollars. This is
less expensive than paying for overnight parking fees, possible
vandalism and damage your car might incur, or a towing charge. You
Drink, We Drive, You Win!
Safe Ride’s coverage area extends from Hawaii Kai to Aloha Stadium.
Currently we do not offer service to the Windward and Leeward coasts,
Central Oahu and the North Shore. Our drivers have clean driving
records,
are over the age of 21, and will get you home in the most professional manner.
