"Fall in Love All Over Again"

Waikiki , November 13, 2003 - The Outrigger Reef on the Beach invites couples to fall in love all over again with a new complimentary vow renewal ceremony performed in a distinctly Hawaiian setting on the beach at Waikiki . The ceremony is held every Friday morning throughout the year as the sun rises over Diamond Head .
Entitled "Ho'i Hou Ke Aloha," which translates into "fall in love all over again," the free ceremony is performed by a practicing Hawaiian Kahu (priest), and is just another example of how the Outrigger Reef has earned its reputation as the most affordable romantic resort on
Waikiki Beach .
After all, what could be more romantic than standing barefoot on the sands of
Waikiki and renewing your wedding vows as palm trees sway, waves lap at the shore and the sun's rays slowly streak over the ridges of Diamond Head crater?
              The non-denominational ceremony begins at
8 a.m. with a welcome by the Kahu, followed by a traditional Hawaiian chant. Couples are then led down a flower-covered path in the sand to the water's edge for the ceremony.
Once at the water's edge, couples are honored with a beautiful Hawaiian hula and serenaded to with Hawaiian song. Couples are then lightly sprinkled with ocean water, a Hawaiian tradition of blessing, and vows are recited. The ceremony concludes with a final gift of hula danced for the couples to the beautiful and haunting Hawaiian Wedding Song.
Presented to each couple at the conclusion of the ceremony is a beautiful vow renewal certificate encircled by a Hawaiian lei design that signifies a circle of love that has no beginning and no end.
A three-night romance package is also being offered throughout 2004 that includes an ocean view room, flower lei greeting on arrival, a 60 minutes couples massage, a private surf lesson for two, a bottle of champagne with keepsake glasses and daily buffet breakfast at the oceanfront Shore Bird restaurant. All this is just $1,380 per couple, or upgrade the package to an oceanfront room for $1,510 per couple (prices valid through December 21,
2004).

HAWAI'I "CHEFS OF ALOHA" BRING ISLAND-STYLE TASTES TO ROYAL OLYMPIA WINTER CRUISES

HONOLULU, October 15 Hawaii's culinary delights will be a featured cultural attraction of the 2003-2004 "Aloha Odyssey" winter cruises offered by Royal Olympia Cruises, through a special program with the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB)

Four award-winning Hawaii "Chefs of Aloha" will provide shipboard gourmet seminars and demonstrations, while also creating signature dishes as part of the dinner menu for the roundtrip 13-day and 14-day cruises. It marks the first appearance by Hawaii chefs aboard Royal Olympia Cruises.

"Experiencing Hawaii’s cuisine is reason enough to book these cruises," said
Les Enderton, HVCB’s Interim President and CEO. "The delicious tastes found in our islands helps explain why Hawaii continues to be the world’s favorite destination."

Enderton added that pairing Hawaii’s cuisine with Royal Olympia Cruises is a perfect match as passengers generally consist of higher-spending travelers attracted to exotic destinations and cultural enrichment. The shipboard setting is sophisticated, luxurious and intimate, ideal for showcasing Hawaii’s culture.

Hawaii’s Chefs of Aloha being featured in the cruise series includes:

• Chef Bev Gannon of the Haliimaile General Store on Maui . The 13-day Aloha Odyssey cruise departs Los Angeles on January 5 and San Francisco the next day and returns January 18 ( San Francisco , January 19).

• Chef Hiroshi Fukui of L’Uraku Restaurant in Honolulu . The 13-day Aloha Odyssey cruise departs Los Angeles on March 5 and San Francisco the next day and returns March 18 ( San Francisco, March 19).

Each chef will conduct demonstrations of their "island-inspired" signature dishes and provide entrees for inclusion in the dinner selections. While each chef has their own unique style, all are personable, fun, and have interesting backgrounds.

"These chefs are true ambassadors of Aloha. They represent the diversity of our islands and the enticing flavors of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. They’ll be a big hit with the passengers," Enderton said.

The cruises will take place aboard the two newest additions to the Royal Olympia Cruises fleet ö the Olympia Voyager and Olympia Explorer. Each state-of-the-art vessel carries 836 passengers and is equipped with proprietary Monohull technology making them the world’s fastest cruise ships. The result is faster ocean crossings, more ports per cruise, and more time in port.

The "Aloha Odyssey" cruises will include port calls in Honolulu ; Kahului, Maui ; Nawiliwili, Kauai ; Hilo on Hawaii’s Big Island ; and Ensenada , Mexico . An additional Big Island stopover in Kailua-Kona will be included in the 14-day cruises.
